Ellyn and Matt planned their wedding around several Old Louisville favorites. They started the day getting ready at the Conrad Caldwell house, held their ceremony outside by the fountain in St. James Court, and ended the day with an intimate dinner reception at 610 Magnolia. This Old Louisville wedding could not have been more timeless and romantic. Ellyn’s sparkling gown and cathedral-length veil absolutely shone inside the luxurious historic interior of the Conrad Caldwell house. The couple’s portraits inside the house made me feel like a kid in a candy store; every single room had some new opportunity for a stunning image. I was obsessed with the colorful wallpaper and opulent trappings contrasting with their pristine, modern wedding attire; the juxtaposition of old beloved home with new commitments.
The rain earlier in the day held off in the afternoon, and the couple was able hold their wedding ceremony in the picturesque St. James court. They recessed down the aisle amid a shower of bubbles from the guests, and moved on to cocktail hour in the courtyard of 610 Magnolia. The day closed out with a romantic candle-lit dinner inside 610 Magnolia, an Old Louisville staple.
