Elegant Spring Fête at Whitehall Estate Garden
This elegant Whitehall wedding was a perfect kick off to Derby season this spring. Alexandra and Micah put their guests first throughout the planning, and created a gorgeous garden party for everyone complete with a life size chess board and other lawn games just outside of their beautiful reception tent. Whitehall weddings are perfect for that elegant garden atmosphere that transports you to Europe without ever leaving Kentucky. Each room in the Whitehall mansion provides a different colorful backdrop for portraits, and the formal Florentine gardens with stone pathways, iron trellises, and yards of tall hedgerows are the perfect space for a picturesque ceremony and cocktail hour. Alexandra and Micah made the most of every natural detail, and their Whitehall wedding was a spring stunner.
In addition to the impeccable wedding design by Christina Burton Events (I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous reception linens from BBJ La Tavola and colorful florals from Zachary Brady Designs), the guests brought the color with their spring wedding fashion. The floral prints, bright colors, and textures were everything I love to photograph – and the parasols had their own moment! In a nod to Derby wedding season, many of the guests wore hats and fascinators with their attire. Wedding guests enjoyed coffee, tea, and cigars just outside the tent while the croquet and chess were put to use. At one point Alexandra and two friends surprised Micah with an unforgettable musical performance complete with custom jackets, and that kicked off the whole reception DJed by MAC Events Indy. Guests danced the night away under the tent in the garden, and closed out this epic Whitehall wedding with a champagne exit on the steps of the mansion and a getaway in the most gorgeous Austin Healey getaway car.
