Colorful Summer Garden Wedding in Louisville Kentucky

Charles and Kevin live in Los Angeles but wanted to show their California friends a bit of their Kentucky roots for their beautiful wedding celebration. The two grooms planned their wedding in Louisville, about 45 minutes away from Bardstown where Charles spent his childhood.

Kevin is an avid Britney Spears fan and is one of the original founders of the LA-based Free Britney movement, so while I won’t say that Britney was necessarily a theme of the wedding, her presence was definitely made known! Several friends of the two grooms brought along life size Britney cardboard cutouts for the wedding entrance, and the guests were requesting Britney songs throughout the reception.

Charles, a landscape architect, wanted colorful florals to add a dramatic flair to this beautiful garden party. A walk around the venue revealed a field of wildflowers that were a perfect floral backdrop for their sunset portraits. The wildflowers for a Kentucky wedding were the perfect analog for the sand and beaches featured in their California engagement

To cap off an event filled with meaningful personal touches, the two grooms brought along their two sweet pups for the ceremony! Somehow we lucked out with an 81-degree day in June in Kentucky, making it a perfect Kentucky summer wedding. Congratulations to the two grooms!
